Candice and Jonathan were childhood friends in their hometown of
Charleston. They lost touch over the years, only to be reunited in a chance meeting in a local restaurant.

Their relationship blossomed, and Jonathan proposed on a
regular Monday night with the help of the couple’s beloved dog. Jonathan had the dog’s collar engraved with “Will you marry us?” Candice read the collar and accepted the proposal.

A year later, the couple were married in a traditional
ceremony held at the Bible Center Church in Charleston. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Bill Rubin, and wore an ivory-colored ball gown with a sleeveless, lace top and buttons extending the entire length of the train.

She carried a bouquet of soft pink and white flowers with greenery. The couple joined family and friends after the ceremony for a celebration at the Edgewood Country Club in Charleston. Guests dined on hors d’oeuvres, steak and chicken, vegetables, and mashed potatoes.

The reception included a few special dances: the couple’s
first dance to “Timing is Everything” by Garrett Hedlund, the father–daughter dance to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Charlisle, and the mother–son dance to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.

The celebration eventually came to an
end, and the couple left the reception for a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Following the trip, the couple returned home to Charleston, where Candice works as a school social worker and therapist and Jonathan as a sales and leasing consultant for a car dealership.
