Courtney Renea Cremeans & William Robert Coleman

Courtney, of Ona, and William, of Huntington, met in church, and their relationship grew from many hours together in discipleship. William had planned a special public proposal, but due to inclement weather, plans were changed to a more intimate setting. Snowed in with her family, playing Taboo, and unable to wait any longer, William decided this would be the perfect opportunity to propose. Pretending he’d picked a card with the word “engagement” on it, he began giving Courtney hints to guess the word. He looked at Courtney and said, “What do married people wear on their left hand?” After multiple attempts and Courtney still clueless, her younger sister, Lindsey, helped her guess. The couple was married at Knotty Pine Lodge on a crisp fall day. The bride wore an off-white gown with pockets, a sweetheart neckline, and removable off-the-shoulder sleeves. She converted it to a strapless gown for the reception. The bridesmaids wore varying styles of dresses in blues and grays. The groom and groomsmen were attired in gray suits and navy ties. The bride was escorted by her father to “Come to Me” by Bethel Music down an aisle lined with tree stumps. The couple had a braiding ceremony that symbolically braided God and their lives together, reflecting on Ecclesiastes 4:9–12, in which a cord of three strands is not easily broken. During the reception, the guests played giant Jenga and cornhole, made their own caramel apples, and dressed up at a Polaroid picture booth. The wedding cake, designed by Kate’s Wonderland Cakes, was accompanied by cupcakes in multiple fall flavors. For the send-off, guests threw dried lavender wrapped in old sheet hymnals. The couple now resides in Ona near friends and family.
