This Independence Day we are celebrating our self-sufficient brides with some creative and inexpensive DIY décor ideas that will add a touch of whimsy to your special day.

Independence Day reminds us that the United States was built upon original ideas, and nothing says original like creating your own décor for your big day or bridal shower. Our stylist Sharon Holcombs crafted these unique gumball creations for one of our bridal expos that had everyone talking, so we decided to share them with you. Use these ideas for your cake, centerpieces, or even a bouquet to add a pop of color to those small details.

BOUQUET: Here’s a bouquet idea you won’t want to throw away! Since it is made with silk flowers, it can be created in advance.

CENTERPIECE: This centerpiece is an inexpensive way to add color to your table. Multicolored straws are topped with gumballs and arranged in a simple container of green ivy. Drill tiny holes in the gumballs, add a dab of hot glue on the top of the straw, and insert the gumball into the straw.

VASE: We love filling clear glass containers and vases of every shape and size with gumballs. The vibrant colors draw the eye and put a smile on everyone’s face. But don’t add water—the dyes in the gum will turn the water black.

JEWELRY: String bubblegum beads onto a ribbon for a fun necklace for a bridal shower. And don’t forget the earrings!
