Charleston natives Amy and Will have been together since they were in the ninth grade, when they attended George Washington High School.

The couple also attended Marshall University together. After Will graduated from the Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina, the couple took a walk to Cooper River underneath the Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant. That’s when Will got down on one knee and asked Amy to become his wife.

The bride chose a three-piece ivory gown consisting of a silk maxi skirt, a satin camisole top, and a scalloped lace topper. The bridesmaids wore full-length mist-colored Vera Wang dresses with satin sashes around their waists. The groom wore a navy blue suit, a white dress shirt, a navy blue tie, and cowboy boots.

The floral arrangements consisted of white roses, baby’s breath, burgundy peonies, silver dollar eucalyptus, and caspia flowers. Pastor Rob VanFossen officiated the ceremony at Cephas’s grandparents home in Charleston, West Virginia. The bride was escorted across the yard by her father to “The Winner Is” by DeVotchka & Mychael Danna. The couple exchanged traditional vows and wrote their own vows to exchange privately.

The Dread Pirate Roberts performed during cocktail hour while guests played games, walked around the property, or enjoyed the photo booth. At the reception, guests dined on beet and arugula salad with walnuts, summer corn salad, roasted chicken with rhubarb jam and fennel, maple-crusted salmon, and macaroni and cheese as well as cupcakes from Sarah’s Bakery.

The wedding cake was a small round white cake with fresh strawberry icing topped with strawberries. As a thank you to guests, Amy and Will included a cookie bar with an assortment of homemade cookies. The couple went to New Smyrna Beach in Florida and Walt Disney World for their honeymoon.
